How to take your measurements
GINNI pieces are cut after you order. For the best result, use a soft measuring tape, wear light fitted clothing, stand naturally and keep the tape comfortably close to the body without pulling it tight. You may use inches or centimetres when submitting measurements after ordering—just select the same unit in the form and use it consistently for every field.
Before you begin
- Ask someone to help where possible.
- Keep the tape level with the floor for circular measurements.
- Measure your body, not another garment.
- Take each measurement twice before submitting.
Bust
Measure around the fullest part of the bust, keeping the tape level across the back.
Waist
Measure around your natural waist, usually the narrowest point of your torso. Do not hold your breath or pull the tape tight.
Hip
Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat.
Shoulder
Measure across the back from one shoulder point to the other.
Armhole
Wrap the tape around the shoulder and under the armpit where the sleeve joins the body. Keep enough ease for natural movement.
Sleeve length
Measure from the shoulder point to your desired sleeve ending.
Kurta, dress, top or kaftan length
Measure from the highest shoulder point down to where you want the garment to finish.
Bottom waist and hip
Measure the waist where you prefer your bottoms to sit, and measure the hip at the fullest point.
Bottom length
Measure from the waist position down to your desired hem.
Height
Enter your full height using the same unit selected for the form. If you are using inches and know your height in feet and inches, convert it to total inches before submitting.
We review measurements before cutting. If anything appears inconsistent, the GINNI team will contact you before production begins.
